It’s hard to work in the garden, but it’s very nice, because vegetables and fruits grown by your own hands seem to be much tastier than those sold in the store or on the market. The fruits of many vegetables grow over
land. But there are plants whose stem twists, like, say, beans and peas. They "climb" onto special supports in order to better absorb the heat of sunlight.
Underground
And some vegetables form root crops underground. These are the changed roots. For example, potatoes, carrots, radishes. But they also need the sun to grow, so their leaves tend to light through the earth.
Pumpkin, zucchini, cabbage and eggplant
The pumpkin family has the largest fruits in the world. Pumpkins and zucchini fruits can be huge. We use varied flowers for cauliflower, while eggplant has a purple peeled fruit.
Friends and foes
Even the vegetables in the garden have enemies: the caterpillars devour the leaves, the bear and other insects destroy the roots. Fortunately, there are birds and frogs that feed on these pests and protect beneficial plants from them.
